Made from pre cut light weight galvanised steel and optional 90mm stumps and optional verandah posts. In the table above the widest floor beam span for 12 of supported floor joists is 14 7 if using a 5 ply 2 x 12. The span of slimdek floor system ranges from 6 5m to 7 5m.
We make joists bearers rafters verandah beams plus piers and bracing. Within the context of steel floor systems simple also means less labour and cost. Steel i beams can be used on residential construction.
Moment base plates steel max moment base fittings have a moment value of 5 2 knm. The overall floor thickness is between 500mm to 1200mm. Details of slimdek floor systems are provided in figure 4.
However a steel beam design might require special handling. Not only is the flooring system a solid alternative to a slab on ground it works economically supporting anything from a lowset granny flat or kit home up to a highset pole house. It consists of shallow brick arches spanning between steel floor beams joists with the arches packed tightly between the beams to provide the necessary resistance to thrust forces as shown in fig.
